Sound Testing

Cooling Tower Test Associates, Inc. (CTTA) is licensed by the Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) to perform cooling tower sound tests. CTTA provides sound testing services for CTI ATC-128 tests and routine status tests. CTTA’s professional staff are pleased to offer over 60 man-years of experience as licensed independent third-party test engineers to the purchasers of our tests.

All tests are conducted in accordance with applicable ASME, CTI, or other recognized test codes or regulations. All instrumentation equals or exceeds code requirements.

Sound Testing

Cooling towers can be loud, no doubt about it. They can pose a significant risk for hearing loss, plus many localities have strict environmental noise restrictions.

CTTA uses the testing protocols found in CTI ATC-128 and other test codes to determine the near-field and environmental exposure to potentially-damaging noise. This makes sound level testing an important first step to mitigating cooling tower noise emissions.
